The course gives an overview of business data modeling basics and concepts that can be applied using the conceptual model, the logical model, the physical model, the hybrid model, and the creation of a sustainable logical model.
The course gives an overview of business data modelling basics and concepts that can be applied using the conceptual model, the logical model, the physical model, the hybrid model, and the creation of a sustainable logical model. Apart from that, attendants will be introduced to advanced modelling techniques such as collecting requests for data modelling, using standards in data modelling, data modelling domains, and data model quality metrics. Each unit consists of a presentation and exercise for attendants.
Syllabus:
The aim of the education program is to:
- Introduce the attendants to the methodological process of building conceptual, logical, and physical models so that they can be understood by business resources.
- Bringing the attendants closer to the business and technical purpose of creating logical data models.
- Show that data modelling as a methodology involves the software as a minor part of this process.
Suggested audience: business analysts, software architects, database administrators, software development engineers.
To follow the course basic database and data modeling knowledge is required. Knowledge of database design is an advantage.
