Self-service vs control over container platform

When it comes to container infrastructure, striking the right balance between self-service and control is never an easy task. Here are 3 measures we’re introducing to make everybody happy and to keep us between anarchy and totalitarianism.

          infrastructure as code

          Infrastructure as Code Vs. GitOps

Infrastructure as Code is a mechanism for creating and maintaining runtime infrastructure based on a definition usually stored in a version control system. The main idea here is that runtime infrastructure can be defined via machine-readable files that can be stored and versioned, much like regular source code. GitOps extends this concept by using Git as version control system.

Kelsey Hightower on Kubernetes, DevOps engineers and digital transformations

Kelsey Hightower is a Staff Developer Advocate at Google, co-chair of KubeCon, the largest Kubernetes conference, and the author of the very first “here’s how you install Kubernetes on your laptop and play with it” post.
In reality, Kelsey needs absolutely no introduction in the cloud native world. I’m always amazed at how open and approachable this guy is! I managed to grab some of his time and here are some parts of what turned out the be one of the most interesting conversations I had on cloud native topic.
