Overview

AGCO, in collaboration with CROZ, successfully completed an AI adoption initiative focused on applying Generative AI capabilities in the product development process with a focus on optimizing ceremonies from planning, retrospective, etc. This initiative brought together employees from different departments around the world to encourage innovation and teamwork. The results and lessons learned will be shared with the rest of the AGCO community to improve business in general. This collaboration, which had it’s final in a hackathon form, produced many innovative ideas, improved collaboration, and raised awareness of different AI techniques. This initiative is expected to lead to future solutions and improvements in the organization overall and represents how AGCO is embracing AI capabilities on focused and specific challenges to improve their business.

Challenge

The complete initiative was designed to address challenges in the product development process, enhance the technical skills of AGCO’s team, promote cross-departmental collaboration, and inspire innovative thinking. By focusing on Generative AI, the initiative aimed to uncover new opportunities for integrating advanced AI solutions into AGCO’s business processes, ultimately driving efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Educational Workshops: The initiative began with comprehensive sessions on AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), providing participants with foundational knowledge.
Mentorship: Business and technical mentors guided teams, helping them refine their ideas and approaches.
Hands-on Projects: Participants engaged in practical projects, applying their newly acquired skills to develop practical AI solutions.
Ideation Session: The initiative concluded with a session to explore potential AI applications within the organization.
Hackathon: Mature ideas were prototyped in a safe-to-fail playground environment during a time-boxed period.

The success case generated over 20 innovative ideas and significantly boosted AI awareness among participants. It enhanced internal collaboration and technical skills, resulting in several promising AI-driven solutions.
