Overview

This year's conference gathered over 160 participants from leading Croatian, Slovenian and Serbian companies in the public, banking, telecommunications, energy and IT sectors who participate in large numbers at the presentations and workshops.

The QED feat. Agile Croatia conference was held in Zadar from the 13th to the 15th of May. The topic of the conference was quality in enterprise development and the principles of agile methodologies in the IT industry were presented at the conference.

Quality in software development is a result of numerous technological and human factors that are intertwined on many levels. Architecture, analysis, development, integration and testing are key concepts which we should pay attention to. Hrvoje Veselko from VIPnet talked about how to satisfy the aspiration for quality products with dynamic market requests for faster deliveries of new products.

At QED, experts in the fields of quality software development and project management from the companies Ascendant Technologies, CROZ and IBM spoke, while representatives from Ericsson, Raiffeisen bank and ZPIZ (Slovenian Institute for Pensions and Disabilities), who must be praised for their high quality IT projects, shared interesting examples of best practices.

Three workshops were held at the conference. One workshop covered agile development, while the second workshop focused on presentation skills and the third workshop demonstrated through a simple children’s game how significant effective communication in agile projects is for the project’s success.

At the round-table discussion, representatives from FINA, PBZ, Ericcson and Slovenia’s D. Labs participated in a discussion about the best method for contracting agile projects.
