“Synesthesia” by Petra Šubić

Since 2018, CROZ has partnered with the Croatian Association of Fine Artists (HDLU) to support local artists and bring art to the public. Twice a year, the facade of our headquarters in Zagreb transforms into a public art gallery, replacing commercial visuals with large-scale artistic expressions.
Located at the bustling Petlja (Loop), where Slavonska Avenue meets Marin Držić Avenue, our 12 x 4.8-meter facade becomes a dynamic cultural landmark thousands of commuters view daily. Over the past six years, this initiative has presented 14 stunning works of art, with each piece showcasing a unique theme and perspective.
The Latest Artwork: Synesthesia
This year, the 14th Facade Gallery introduces Synesthesia by Petra Šubić. This vibrant piece explores the interplay of the senses and the blending of seemingly disparate experiences, drawing inspiration from the phenomenon where stimulation of one sense involuntarily triggers another.
According to Petra, Synesthesia is a visual representation of how emotions, memories, and sensations intertwine to create a cohesive yet dynamic narrative. With its vivid colors and bold forms, the piece encourages viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness of their perceptions and how art can evoke a multisensory experience.
The artwork has been enlarged and printed onto a 12 x 4.8-meter poster, which now adorns the CROZ building facade. It will remain on display until November 2024, inspiring passersby with its thought-provoking and immersive design.
